Op-Ed: As the United States hunts for allies in the Middle East and Beijing tightens its grip on Taiwan, Sanae Takaichi arrives at the White House holding more cards than the headlines suggest.
I hope the Trump-Takaichi meeting goes well. It’s time Japan reaches full sovereign nation status again and amend its pacifist constitution. This would be a final step towards normalization for Japan and help to strengthen the global democratic nation alliance. The world has changed; Japan must be allowed to change with it and not be forever chained to its past.
Japan hates China. NATO countries that have failed to help here will lead to the death of NATO which the U.S. wants anyway. Next will be the UN and the WHO can get supported by China. Once that happens trade deals will be begin again and Trump will hold every card imaginable because every country wants to be in the US economy. It’s all going as planned.
I would add one more point. While Trump is a bully with a lot of leaders of traditional American allies, to a degree that I believe is destructive (even though I agree with his aims), he is noticeably polite and gentle with female leaders. Even with the pantsuit eurotard Ursula von der Leyen, who is in a position that is most antithetical to Trump's view of the world, he has held back from his worst tendencies.
My guess is that Ms. Takaichi will quietly walk away with something important after agreeing to send a Japanese destroyer to the Straight. Of course, everyone will agree that it can arrive between 3-6 months from now, well after the danger has passed. In this case, everyone knows it's appearances that matter, not substantive military involvement.
A great read and perspective Sam!! Gives hope that sanity and working together prevails in some countries, that President Trump’s vision for protection of the West is getting optimum support from Japan!
Fascinating geopolitical perspective
will be interesting TV tomorrow for sure
I really appreciate The Bureau, thanks for the Great Work
thx very much
Mean while Canada looks like a fool that has surrendered its sovereignty to China and WEF. A hand with no cards.
Not even a hand.
