Noble. I’d point out that 2% GDP NATO spending is now 5%. Given Canada and its deepening movement towards China I doubt it has any hunger to achieve any of this. In a skirmish that pits China against the US it’s fair to say right now that Canada would most likely attempt to stay neutral. That’s not a possible outcome the US can or will allow. Canada already cannot be trusted with classified material between the countries. It would take serious steps from Canada to even become a trusted partner at this point.

Well said James, this country of Canazuela is a farcical nation. I am convinced there will be war on this soil and it will take place in the Arctic.

Thanks Dan. I’m aware of the plight of Canadians and from my vantage point I don’t see anyway out of their hopes to be a free country unless the US takes over.

Great article: I think you need a sincere leader who has the best interest of the people and their country to be as proactive as being suggested. I could be wrong.

A somewhat frequent thought slides by constant pressure of In My Understanding -IMU- and therefore-IMO-which is normally happens when the massive entourage of Chairman Xi and previous examples of Communist China Party’s show extensive depth of C.C.P. layered Executive, if you will, Personal on the ready to maintain and control the ‘Citizen?’ of China; what Percent[%] is the attendance of the Female Gender in the layered entourage? _When the Liberal Party of Canada’s Centralized control, finally collapses under C.C.P.’s dominance, wonder of many layers of Female executive-status at CBC and actually in any Governance Administration will be allowed! __MikeSr

For the last 10 years the liberal gvt has been purposefully weakening the cdn military. We have China police stations all over Canada (albeit disguised as community help centers), the gvt allows China troops to train on cdn soil (in BC), they even tried to have chinese military embedded in cdn military as information sharing (military had to refused due to obvious security issues that were not obvious to elected gvt officials) now marx carnage is beholden to Xi Ping Pong for Brookfield debt rescue so he gives them Canada...no skin of his nose he is a European & globalist.

Carnage is one big blob of conflict of interest. Should never have been allowed to run for office. Anything goes in Canazuela.

And there then was this headline today from Fox News:

Who didn't see this coming? It's been obvious for sometime the US is not playing games.

President Donald Trump threatened on Saturday that he would implement 100% tariffs on Canada if it strikes a deal to become a "drop off port" for China.

"If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a "drop off port" for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken. China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.," the president added.

This Liberal-media fuelled hysteria highlights the disconnect between the bourgeois pensioners supporting Carney and the rest of the voters.

I encourage the Carneyistas to keep it up.

I thought about what a US invasion would be. First, why would they invade? Because we threatened their energy supply chain: Oil, electricity, and uranium. I can't see any other reason unless we were invaded by Russia or China. Doug Ford accidentally forced their hand when he threatened to cut off electricity. Trump's reply was telling: " “So I am glad because electricity, you shouldn’t be playing with electricity. It affects people’s lives. Actually their life – depending on weather, it can affect their life – so we cant do that.”

So then. Would the US bother invading Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver and risk thousands of casualties in order to capture Canadian banks? If it were me, I'd simply secure the oilfields, uranium mines and James Bay etc. and the transmission lines back to the US. Cut off energy supplies to the cities and let them freeze. Canadian cities have zero value to America.

Our loose borders, looser laws and the infiltration of drugs and criminals into Canada threaten the security of the USA.

There would be no invasion, likely just a text saying its over, end of story.

Good report. One caveat: it's not responsible to write about Russia's war in Ukraine when Ukrainian troops have invaded border oblasts in Russia and have had drone attacks far into Russia, like the one that hit an industrial plant in Bashkortostan 1300 kilometres inside Russia. This is a Russo-Ukrainian War; it's not a war in Ukraine.

Yes, this is exactly how it Should work and Would unfold with a leader of good will who had the interests of Canadians at heart, a Stephen Harper, say. I am very much afraid that the Carney Govt is more interested in scoring political points with Canadian voters and the EU Crowd by “standing up “ to Donald Trump, after he has deliberately provoked him with his Davos speech and by his trade agreement with our biggest security threat to bring in Chinese mobile data collection spying units on wheels(I.e. EVs). I can see this Govt forcing DND, the RCMP and other Police, CSIS, etc., to buy these EVs for official use! Who leaked the strategic planning document to the press, I wonder? I am not very hopeful at this point…
