Our Iconic police service is now in deep disrepute. Politicized leadership with no moral standing and like every other Institute in Canada, is rife with foreign infiltration and corruption to the highest levels. Canada and it's Institution's are a hollowed out shell of their former selves and an embarrassment on the International and home front. Canada is not a serious country.

The RCMP are not even shades of the past. It is a ridiculous organization run and staffed in some cases by buffoons that has been weakened by DEI hiring (Keystone Cops). When the going gets real tough and it will, how is a 120 lb pound RCMP officer going to help you out, once the bullets are gone and the tazer runs out of juice. These so called police will not even be able to protect themselves. I know I am a little off topic.

As a former junior Mountie, I too am saddened by the inability of the federal government and the higher echelons of the Force to even pretend to care about the inexorable march to absolute collapse of this once proud organization. I'll bet there's not 2 in 10 who could find Falkland on a map. As for the tariffs, couldn't possibly be tied to Fentanyl, must just be "Orange Man Bad" ramblings. Remember Mayerthorpe? Remember Portapique? Writing's on the wall people.

I'm a former NYC cop, and I've been around the block.

I've worked with a bunch of retired ones, and I'm kinda sorta friends w/ a detachment commander out west.

This department, above all others is the paragon of empty suits. Wimps in cops clothes that I wouldn't work with, period. I'd rather have a skell as a partner than one of these clowns. (In the NYPD, that last sentence would lead to a fistfight in the locker room-- and yeah, we have 'em)

Useless, useless fucking clerks, more of a danger to the general public by their incompetence on all levels than any sort of solution.

Back in the day, we'd tease Mounties for being so high and tight, by the book as opposed to the free-wheeling cops we were. But back then, those motherfuckers knew their shit, and when push came to shove backed it up. With class and a style that left vets like me wide-eyed.

And oh man... could they drink after a tour! LOL

Now? Huh... They don't even get a shrug.

Useless empty suits that are a danger to the public.

I haven’t trusted the RCMP since they tazered Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver airport in 2007.

The guy doing the tazeing was a definite DEI hire. A complete and utter fool, but part of a so called diverse work force. He was not even fit to be a salad bar cop.

There is no evidence that our politicians want to reduce drugs and money laundering, so an incapable RCMP works for them.

And he wants to send Canadians to Ukraine when we can’t even protect ourselves in our own backyard. What an apocalyptic failure of leadership we’ve been suffering through for too many years. Canada, sadly, will cease to exist in the not too distant future…

you are absolutely right Sam...and thanks to the lack of leadership and probable involvement of the last several governments we don,t even have a military or national guard to take up the slack...and this has been happening since trudeau Sr. for fu!@k sakes!!!!...at this point i,m not even sure that a conservative gov. is going to be up to the task....given his tendency to blame everything on the orange man!!!...i think i need a beer! cheers!

you had me right up to the point, but then you started on the conservative government, or HoC in action, maybe watch some of the committee meetings, there's no speak of orange the only disappointment orange is the NDP Party. PS I am Conservative, old grandma boomer, and we cheered for DJT. I forgive your confusion because there is a definite difference between Federal CPC and Provincial (RED Tory Liberals) Conservatives like Doug Ford who took the american booze off the shelves, but he bakes his cheesecakes with "Philadelphia Cream" but don't let a can of Campbells tomatoe soup be on a shelf in a grocery store in Ontario because they are misleading us!

Reviving the Sheriff’s Office and Posse membership as a means of restoring civilian control and constitutional oversight. This concept resonates with movements like the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), which advocates for sheriffs to act as guardians of constitutional rights and resist federal or state overreach.

This isn’t just about law enforcement, it’s about reclaiming local governance and reinvigorating civic responsibility. If you're thinking about how to implement or advocate for this in your region, Sheriff Mack can help draft a proposal, outline a community engagement strategy, or even build a training curriculum.

Re-establishing the Sheriff’s Office: A Path to Civilian Sovereignty

🔹 Why Sheriffs Matter

Elected Accountability: Sheriffs are directly elected by the people, not appointed by bureaucrats. This makes them uniquely positioned to reflect the will of their communities.

Local Jurisdiction: Unlike federal agencies, sheriffs operate at the county level, where they can prioritize local concerns and values.

Constitutional Authority: Some argue that sheriffs have the power to interpose—refusing to enforce laws they believe violate constitutional rights.

🔹 The Role of the Posse

Community Engagement: A posse isn’t just a throwback to the Wild West—it can be a modern volunteer force trained to assist in emergencies, search and rescue, or public safety.

Civilian Oversight: Posse membership empowers citizens to participate in law enforcement support roles, reinforcing transparency and trust.

Preparedness & Resilience: In times of crisis, a trained civilian posse can be a vital asset for local response.

🔹 Civilian Control in Practice

Transparency: Regular town halls, published reports, and open-door policies.

Training & Certification: Civilians can be educated on constitutional law, emergency response, and ethical conduct.

Checks & Balances: A reformed sheriff’s office could include advisory boards made up of local citizens.

It would be interesting to know, and publish how many dollars are spent each year on VA claims to members of the RCMP, how many sick days ( it’s unlimited) members take and what the cost is. It’s become a “ right of passage “ to get your VA claims in for the most minor, and expected police related incidents
