Money laundering is a symptom of a much larger problem, namely the influence and corruption of the Liberal Party all the way up to the PMO that has occurred as far back as PM Pearson and Pierre Trudeau and continues under PM Carney. In Carney's case, his Brookfield deals can be seen as a form of greenwashing for Chinese influence. This is an example of elite capture where financial obligations translate to policy payoffs like the China reset, exemplified by PM Carney's pattern of emphasizing foreign ties over national interests. Indeed, Carney and Anita Anand have recently stated that Canada now has a strategic relationship with China. The implications for Canada's economy are dire. In response to Canada becoming a de facto China proxy on the US northern border, Trump may file a 6 month notice to exit CUSMA on or before the June 2026 renegotiation date. Should that occur, the Canadian dollar and economy would immediately nose dive. Further, in addition to more tariffs with CUSMA protection removed, it is conceivable that Trump could use sanctions against Canada as a hostile nation.

Acutely well said! You’ve outlined additional very critical issues to what I said that will surely fall our way without rational interventions!!

Sam, I believe this prosecution was the direct result of your relentless pressure pushing facts and data into the public sphere. The 18 month sentence seems very tepid. Perhaps this was a backroom agreement to appease the US and Canadian public's demand for action. So, they offered a sacrificial lamb. I'd put more money on that than the Canadian justice system grew a spine.

P Trudeau senior opened the gates. 10yrs with J Trudeau solidified the criminals element hold on Canada. And now Carney with his Brookfield... well, just another nail. Our whole legal system has been compromised thanks to the Liberal crime bills. The RCMP, from sources that I have talked to, are compromised. J Trudeau should have been charged on so many counts.. but, still walks amongst us. Whatever became of the meeting he was seen attending with the Chinese Triads in Richmond, BC? Of course... nothing... Well... this sentencing is a drop in the bucket... 18months.. what so she'll be out in 6... I just wish more people would get their heads out of the sand and see what is going on.

In Terry Glavin’s Substack this week, he reported that 45% of Canadians believe that the US is our enemy, compared to 35% who believe that China is our enemy. It appears as if Carney’s ‘elbows up’ strategy has worked.

Only in Canada you Say, Pity!

That is the state of our nation. The good guys go to jail for doing good things and the bad guys just get away with murder.

I am coming late to learning how prevalent and how serious the issues of drug trafficking and money laundering are, but what can municipal, provincial, and federal governments do to address the gaps that allow these extremely destabilizing activities to be so successful. Are there options for community action in BC and in Canada to put pressure on politicians to make the changes or investments required. Why isn’t this on the agenda of every level of government? If I have understood what I’ve read, it would seem that our laws governing human rights may be constraining law enforcement, but do not see wider discussion of how this might be addressed. Are there carve outs that could be made under stringent conditions that could help. There are huge societal costs in our own country to this nasty business, not to speak of the consequences for neighbouring countries. What effective (well organized, well publicized) avenues are there for citizen involvement in coordinated campaigns. What are the pressure points? Shining a light on this, as you do, is excellent. But if the citizenry is not to be spectators, it would be helpful if there was a way forward.

I really can't buy the "Iran" angle. Tell us more about your intel on Iranian players. It seems far more likely East Indians and Chinese, with Chinese running the administration are the players.

Just a minnow while all the real sharks continue as usual. She probably will get a nice bonus for her 18 month vacation. Don't forget in Canada 18 month sentence does not mean 18 months in jail.

Step back and think about all this……..there is one reason crime, money laundering, drug production has a free rein in Canada: OTTAWA AND THE LIBERAL GOVERNMENT!! Not only do known high-level criminals appear at political events or fundraisers with little oversight, but high-level political figures are photographed at high-level meetings and celebrations of high-level criminal elements! Both Trudeau and Carney socialize and meet with highly questionable riffraff on a regular basis. The Trudeau foundation has accepted literally billions of dark fund originating from illegal sources! Don’t be naive Mayor West! Blinken certainly knows where the problems lie, “politicians ARE complicit”!! End of story!! Trump et al are clearly aware. Instead of some Canadians stooping to the Liberal liars, every single Canadians should be hailing President Trump as the one caring leader trying to clean up our pitiful, crime ridden country! “The Americans see pictures of transnational criminals mingling at official gatherings and find it baffling.” Eventually the US will not just stand by. They will proceed to remove the threats to the West! Don’t think for one moment Carney cares! He will disappear like the pocket lining coward he is!!

Sam…… P L E A S E…… for your important information ……what first caught my attention on money laundering CORRUPTION was the “collapse” of the E Private money laundering case.

When I first noticed your….. VERY …….credible, … reporting on the case….. I financially supported your efforts and I will continue to do so. What a breath of fresh air to hear and read credible information….. and let me tell you as a Canadian it is appreciated.

Zhu… was the owner of Silver International…. as you probably know. Jin has been reported as his “associate”. A hit took place that murdered Zhu …AND …

at the same time… his “associate” was only wounded. The hit man was a Charles Reed…now .in the clink …. where well he should be. However, according the hit man Reed,….. Jin was targeted hit.

Now this first “successful” prosecution on money laundering…….. is …insignificant . … and ONLY to send the message out that …… Hell the B.C.Prosecution “Service” is doing a superb job of taking on money launders. Sam…… that is CRAP….. please don’t go down that rabbit hole.

Fact is the BCPS are scared shitless of the Chinese money launders.

WHY ……do I say that? Simply BECAUSE…. Zhu’s associate was being investigated at the SAME time as Jin. Guess WHO the BCPS turned the police report over to recommend if charges should be layed. Yup…. non other thanp a “criminal” defense lawyer in Victoria. Presto… no charges recommended and Jin as been screen lately around Richmond.

Hey Sam more on this later as to WHY the CORRUPT mainstream media “reported” that the Zhu case was “turfed” basically at the door of the courtroom before the case was to be heard by a judge. No…. not months BEFORE.

REALLY….. REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR WORK SAM AND THAT OF THE BUREAU. However be very very careful …. yaaah….. even from our governments

Sam…… if I may continue as to what took place when the “2 prosecutors” fled the scene at the court house door in the Zhu …Silver International… money laundering case. Hey Premier Eby .. who was the attorney General at the time,….wasn’t aware the case was “turfed” until he heard about it the next day. He didn’t know what happened. When he found out it was PUBLISHED in the newspapers he stated that “money laundering could no longer be prosecuted in B.C.”.

Sam it was almost immediate after that the “prosecutorial discretion” came on the scene. I don’t know where it came from. Don’t be fooled…. this “out” for prosecutors is meant for money laundering cases …….. B E C A U S E ……. it was entered into Judge Cullen’s mandate….. directing Cullen in his bullshit $14 million “Inquiry”…….. quote…..”not to inquire into “prosecutorial discretion”. Now WHY IN HELL DID THE NDP NOT WANT CULLEN TO KNOW ABOUT THIS “OUT” for prosecutors not to prosecute money launders?

The STENCH coming from this B.C. Money Laundering “Inquiry” manure pile takes your breath away.

Hey Sam….. more to come on this. But the point I’m making is the prosecutors are scared for their very lives if they try to prosecute the criminal element…… NOT…… case law.

More to come on this issue. Enough for this post.

However Sam I join others in thanking you for fighting for Canada. The politicians and the RCMP sure as hell aren’t lifting a finger.

As Carney is moving Canada into this "strategic relationship" with China, the real question is, was this baby step of a conviction just a sacrificial pawn? The more committee digs into Carney's conflicts of interest with Brookfield the more it appears Carney is using Canada as a means of achieving global wealth for himself and his associates with no concern for the people of Canada. I believe the Conservatives were correct in questioning Carney's loyalty to Canada. And so, If this sentencing was intended to signal that the liberals are getting tough on China's money laundering then it is a failure. Trump could take the stance that Canada has become the host for a hostile nation (China) and could take steps to collapse the CUSMA agreement. At that point Canada will be at the complete mercy of China, India and any other nations hostile to the USA that Carney chooses to cosy up with.
