I'm starting to see a recurring pattern with the RCMP that suggests the organization is playing for the wrong team.

Thanks to the community for following, I have updated the story with material info shared by my contributor, who did relevant FOIs -- I told him to hold off on the story until we found out more. We found out more this week. This, to me, demonstrates the value of investigative reporting, and the instinct, institutional knowledge, that comes with it. Had we run a prior report, based on freedom of information, we would only have a story that, really, made BCLC look good and on top of it. There is always more to the story, especially in Vancouver, IMO. BCLC Internal Review Claimed “High-Risk” Gaps Addressed

Meanwhile, an internal review from BCLC, obtained by The Bureau through freedom of information, suggested the corporation had addressed gaps it was informed of. A February 2025 report on BCLC’s money laundering controls found a “current maturity” level of 3.5 out of 5 — functioning fairly well, but with room for improvement.

“Money laundering is often linked to various forms of organized crime, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorism financing,” the auditors noted. “By implementing robust AML practices within BCLC’s operations, the organization plays a crucial role in disrupting these criminal activities.”

Several problems were identified, which BCLC said in an appendix have since been fixed. The AML compliance manual for service providers was outdated, filled with technical jargon that made it “challenging for employees to understand and adhere to.”

And iTrak, BCLC’s casino reporting system, contains sensitive player information, but since its inception — and contrary to BCLC’s data retention policy — no data had been purged. This could produce outdated player information, reduce accuracy, and potentially create incorrect profiles.

Three high-risk patrons were also not designated as such in iTrak, which “could lead to suspicious activities being overlooked,” that report said.

BCLC additionally needed more clarity on casino chip passing to comply with ministerial directives.

If someone comes to this country the onus should be on them to understand and adapt to any linguistic and cultural differences, not Canada and Canadians adapting to them.

Otherwise Canada would have to adapt to the hundreds or thousands of different cultures and languages in the world.

There is is something very suspicious going on and Eby and the BCLC seem to want to ignore it for whatever reason.

This reminds me of the American bureaucrat who was approached by 3 Arab men in the early 2000s who wanted crop dusting licenses. When she denied their requests, the hurled insults at her and threatened death. she chalked it up to "linguistic and cultural differences.”

It is beyond the time where we as Canadians have to admit that Pierre Trudeau's "multiculturalism" is a a deeply failed and flawed philosophy. It belongs in the waste bin of history alongside Marxist Leninism.

If the global elites' plan is to populate canada with the unwashed of the world, then our government should be charging the UN hundreds of thousands of dollars per immigrant...

It’s not ‘normal’ for peoole from 150 countries to live together in close proximity like they do in Canada.

Unfortunately it seems Canadian politicians and organizations such as BCLC and the RCMP have long entered an era of cover ups and denial. What has happened to ownership and admission when something is wrong. It would be so refreshing to hear the words, "yes, we were wrong and here is how we have corrected it." But nope, just more expensive appeals, more avoidance and less accountability. David Eby is likely one of the worst in this, lots of word salads and refusal to take responsibility for anything. Very woke attitude.

If the shoe was on the other foot, do you think China would care about 'language barriers and cultural context." What a bunch of _ _ _ _. We only do we sweep things under the rug; we are the rug. There is dirt on both sides.

Unreal. It never ends. We all think we have crooks down here in the states and we surely do but jeezus Canada has us beat by a mile. It’s egregious and not a damn thing gets done about any of it. The Cullen commission was nothing more than a dog and pony show it seems now. China and the like own the country. Put up the white flag.

I have said before, and will say it again - the RCMP have been, and are, politically muzzled in their operations. There have been a number of whistleblowers and retired members who attest to this with very damning details. Putting them in the spotlight as somehow promoting all this criminal carnage is highly unfair!!

Trudeau, Carney and Eby ALL benefit from their dedicated CCP relationships, especially on the financial front! The Trudeau Foundation has received billions from Beijing for example! Carney’s Brookfield spots billions of investment dollar rewards!

Nothing will ever change until Canada installs leadership in Ottawa with honest and truthful moral ethics, and sincere and genuine caring for this country and its citizens. If Carney is allowed to power out his term, there won’t be anything left in Canada that really matters to any Canadian!!

Bureaucrats in Uniform The Politicization and Decline of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police: "Among the most serious reasons advanced for the current problems in the Force is that it has become politicized in the sense that it responds directly to political instructions. This is especially serious because the RCMP is above all a “guardian” institution, like the Canadian Forces and the courts of law. Once the police take political direction, the rule of law is subverted. And the rule of law, it hardly needs be mentioned, is a pillar, perhaps the very foundation, of constitutional democracy." Aaahhhhh the $14million Cullen Money Launderung “Iquiry”! He identified the fact that certain lawyers in B.C. are in the lucrative business of money laundering. Prey tell,… of all his recommendations… why did he not come down hard on the Law Society of B.C. to shut them to hell down?

The lawyers are using their trust accounts to “cleanse” the dirty money. When the dirty money is in those trust accounts….. the accumulating “interest” on the dirty money goes to the Law Society of B.C. Hey, it’s all legal because it’s according to the Legal Profession Act.

But guess who the benchers (directors) are of the Law Society?

Sure wish Sam Cooper would contact me. I could sure fill him in on a lot of details of what’s took place here in B.C.

A really interesting report. What is Mr Eby doing? Here we see there is finally a response to unchecked money laundering in BC, but the BCLC is going to contest it! The Province is taking a stand for money laundering, based on linguistic and cultural differences of people involved in criminal activity in BC. Is this a case of “it’s not their fault, they don’t know they are breaking the law” Does Mr Eby want to see money laundering and associated crime continue in the Province? We’ve just witnessed the big ferry contract for China debacle, now criminals (mostly from China) are being protected because they don’t realize they are committing crimes in BC. Has Eby fallen in love with China or is he a puppet on a string for the China loving Liberals? At the rate things are going BC could be occupied by the US. We are hemorrhaging drugs and dirty money on a global scale. It can’t continue.
