Safe supply, safe injection sites. I cannot think of anything more unsafe. This so called country is pathetic. For those interested check out Aaron Gunn's latest doc on this nonsense.

Someone should 'study' the EMT's and police who have to deal with the addiction and mental health issues hour by hour throughout BC. If anyone can provide massive evidence that these 'safe sites' AREN'T WORKING it would be them!

True. Really does depend on how you operationalize 'working', though. Do they save lives in the moment? Very often, and thank heavens. That's what/all EMT's and police see. They are there in the moment (again, thank heavens). Are there huge unintended consequences? We have research on that as well. Diversion, normalizing drugs, extaordinary community/government costs, higher crime (I know, mixed on that), fraying stressed neighbourhoods, burnt-out and beat first responders, etc. Families are shattered and depleted as we sit in the trunk while our addicted loved ones drive the car off the cliff while well intentioned activists "meet them where they are at".

This should be common sense to not give more drugs to addicts who sell them for stronger drugs. The best part is they are free to them and we working taxpayers pay for this targeted campaign to Addict more Canadians.

Your comment is just proof that you've no idea how the system works. Read up before making such ridiculous statements.

GM…thank you Sam !

When will the people wake up to this fact ???

This “safe supply” drug “Dilotid” which is being cheaply sold on the streets of Vancouver is instantly addictive according to a DTES documentary I watched a couple of years ago. Two 15 year young girls testified/shared that after they tried it just once they immediately craved more.

In my opinion…this horrible drug makes the opioid crises look like a walk In the park.

I’m also afraid that this particular drug is the reason we are seeing such horrible violence on our streets.

Our government ..(dishing them out like candy ) seems to be creating more brand new users every single day with this so called “safe supply” drug …And I’m positive they are well aware of it ….

When will the people finally rise up and say “enough Is enough” . 💔💔💔

Handing out drugs so people don’t have to withdrawal is lunacy. An addict who can get free anything will always find a way to trade or sell what they have to get what they want. You really want to help these people? Lock them down for a year so they can get healthy and reset their lives then re-acclimate them into society with support and employment. You’ll have much more success and create positive members of society. Yes, it’s costly but these other programs are too. It can’t be worse.

I have a partial solution that would go a long way towards ending this scourge.

Round up all the junkies, Warehouse them in long narrow buildings chained to the floor while they detox.

March every 5th grade class through that building and then give them a very stern lecture about what they could become if they take that first step down the drug abuse road.

Time to let Darwin have his way, the resources waste on none contributors could be better spent taking care or our veterans and other that help push our society forward rather that on those determined to be an anchor holding us back.

I always wonder why nobody mentions the fact that giving free alcohol to alcoholics is known to increase (not decrease) their problems!

Addicts will do and say anything to secure the next fix, which is why surveys are useless and having them “promise” to use only the “safe” supply doesn’t work.

I always compare it to AA, if everyone who went to AA entered the meeting and were greeted with a drink when they walked into the room well….. they wouldn’t ever get sober would they?

Right from start to finish your post is full of half truths and straight out lies. I hope people research this for themselves rather than take the word of a partisan hack. People's lives are at stake.

What he’s saying is that the safe supply advocates propagate half truths and straight out lies, which is totally true, not a lie. It’s fair game to say that people should research this for themselves, and he’s pointed them in the direction of the published research. If you have something constructive to say about the published research, then say it!

People contribute to their society, junkies drag a society down and contribute nothing. What does society owe them?
