The increased CCP presence in Canada is, without a doubt, of serious concern especially considering their MILITIA IS HERE!

As the US moves towards increased official integrity and an invitational approach to building an international consensus to counter CCP efforts to dominate and insidiously exploit areas of the globe in different forms, it's encouraging to hear these insights that there also does in fact exist an appetite within China for a change of course. Xi's paranoid moves to retain power bear the hallmarks of a dictator on the cusp of a precipitous fall, so the question becomes: what will his ultimate demise look like? Either we're in for a calamity of near inestimable disaster for the world or a tectonic domestic Chinese shift with incredible potential to lift the Chinese people into a truer state of personal agency, unleashing the enormous pent-up creative and collaborative force potential that could alternatively serve to bring humanity collectively forward and away from this awful gaping abyss. Philosophizing...entertaining despite the elements of dread. Praying for the best. Thanks for another fascinating conversation - insights to be had nowhere else!

Your research and resulting knowledge Sam, together with your insight and connections Chris bring a powerful vision of productive future possibilities. Keeping partisan craziness at bay will take some unique, strong and wise rule. In spite of your open dislike for President Trump, he appears the only leader with a brilliant business mind and the insight to see the future as you both envision. The earth shattering changes he has made in America in just a few weeks are profound! In spite of the partisan Democrat ugliness. His delivery, guessing game tactics, blunt and unapologetic negotiations……to me have a “vindictive” quality I truly enjoy! Full of honesty and caring for Americans instead of the lying, narcissistic rhetoric we hear from most leaders!!

In the moment…pray Xi Ping is ousted before he can do damage to the West. Vancouver’s unguarded port would be that perfect spot to launch an attack…..similar to Zelensky’s recent brain-dead attack on Russia!

China’s communist party prefers to send its officials to US institutions for governance training.

An interesting talk, always good to learn more. But whenever I hear the theory that revenge for Opium is the motivating factor in China’s nasty aggression toward the west, it drives me nuts. We’re all gaslit by that fiction into feeling some weird sense of shame. Many, many people in China got fabulously wealthy from the opium trade; that wealth has filtered down across the generations into the bowels of CCP power that exists in the present day.

Thank you for your comment. We can all agree that accountability is far better than revenge. China was setting economic development records, then the consequences of their covert warfare strategy (along with extreme control tactics domestically) helped kill the goose laying the golden eggs. I will write an article on my take on the Opium Wars - I think it's important to recognize what happen, and yes, as a westerner I think it's critical to recognize the role the West played in China's 100 years of shame. However, at the same time, I refuse to accept and will continue to protest the Reverse Opium War going on now.

Thanks for the reply. It would be great to fill in the missing information around who, in China, got massively rich from the opium trade. Perhaps with your contacts, knowledge and expertise that bit of history could be filled in with facts and reality. There were people in China whose opium money set them up for more money and lots of power, as it always does, regardless of the nation or era.
