China has a long history of pathetic building practices. This is not the only country that has experienced shoddy Chinese construction practices. You only need to look at China, there are many instances of collapsed bridges and buildings. Lets be honest this country is poison. Good for the students in Serbia, I hope positive change, comes out of this.

The Thai government is investigating to see if cheap materials were used and if there was corruption in the process. You forgot to mention that the surveillance files on the citizens of Serbia kept by Serbian law enforcement and national security agencies were never opened to the public. The same people or their disciples have been in power since 1945. Revolution is the worst thing that can happen to Serbia. The best is the incremental, steady growth out of the mindset that relies on blind trust in 'charismatic leaders' who swoop in and solve all national problems. Vucic is not as bad as people try to paint him in the media.

We are not alone, but being able to claim, "It could be worse," doesn't bring much comfort. We are in something akin to a cafeteria lineup, shuffling along carrying our dinner trays waiting to be served by those behind the steam table. Those in a worse situation are the ones who arrived at the cafeteria a bit before us.
