"Most Canadians just believe that the China deal is just giving us an alternative to trade with the US."

Most of the Canadians who believe this are in the east - not all, but most. That is why Alberta Independence continues to grow and will continue to grow.

Geopolitical illiteracy is extremely costly, and communist leaders often see it as a segue to enter into other countries.

This podcast confirms the obvious. Carnage is a greasy little Commie through and through.

"Carnage" ... lol ... good one!

When Chrystia Freeland (no fan of her) is publicly giving us heads up on Bill Maher by saying that we ought to be concerned about the Canada/China relations, that is more telling than not—isn't it?

Maurice Pratt's avatar

I just watched that. You’re right, she did, so it’s not incompetence. Regardless, as Maher summarized: China is here to pick up the pieces. And it looks like we are going to let them.

the rise of Marxism is well on its way in canada .

Always great commentary. I don't understand why the Liberal government is going along with China! It's either incompetence or corruption. Take your pick!

Mark Bob's avatar

It's incompetence, corruption, AND childishness.

Great revealing discussion.

How far will this go before

….the US steps in and terminates the Ottawa government?

Oh yes Nortel. I asked a friend whose husband worked at Nortel how the technology was stolen. The answer "they had cameras in their noses."

I just appreciate that this corruption continues to be exposed. I get it that hardcore Liberals think that Carney is making a good move with China, but people are talking everywhere. A lot of Canadians are well aware of the risk that China is to Canada, they know without being told that Chinese EV’s are data collection machines, and that the Chinese interfere in our elections is becoming more apparent to many people. I live on the west coast so maybe people in Central Canada are still blinded by their love for the Liberals but I think that will change. The real kicker that Mark Carney does not seem to have considered is that the US won’t tolerate China setting up shop in Canada, it’s already a crisis. Something will have to give at some point. Carney thinks he has pulled off some sort of political coup, but he has actually made a serious miscalculation.

Thank you Sam and Brian great podcast!

Mark Bob's avatar

Ok, so it seems that Carney's way of hitting Trump is to stick it to Canada.

Progressives do such dumb things.

Mark Bob's avatar

I should note that I am not a big fan of Trump's obnoxious approach to getting US allies to pony up more for their own defense and trade with the US on more fair terms.

But, perhaps there is at least one benefit - it smokes out the reality that many of the allies of the US were really just a hair's width away from betrayal all along. It's better to know that now than to find out later when it matters.

Or, I should say, a significant political faction of allies are like this. Clearly, not all Canadians think this way. But they are there and it's best to know what their real intentions and motives are.

Canada has become another Taiwan..and it's setting the stage for WW lll.. (and not just the cyber war we're having now, which is just a prelude) ..but an actual BOOM BOOM war..closer now than the Cuban Missile Crisis..

Sam, before delving into China’s electric vehicle propaganda, I beg of you to tread carefully, so as not to ruin your reputation as an excellent investigative reporter …and as such a very important source of FACTUAL news at these troubling times in Canada.

China’s “surveillance's of our roads”? Really? That makes as much sense as China being able to rob our electricity when an electric vehicle is plugged in for charging. This is outstanding…. sending AC power 4000 miles without poles or transformers? No, you didn’t publish that B.S. .. thank god….. but “it’s out there”.

FACT:

Whether we like it or not, China has built a superior EV than the lithium powered EVs being manufactured in various countries of the world…….yes…… even in the USA. The lithium ion batteries are…. in some cases,….prone to fires that are VERY hard to extinguish.

Hell…. a huge ship, loaded with them, burnt to the water line a sank off the Azores… as fire boats pumped millions of gallons of water on the ship.

They also deteriorate over time….. as ALL batteries do. Once the battery is expired it is too expensive to replace because of cost of a new battery, ESPECIALLY the labour involved in doing so. Basically.. the EVs are “a throw away item”.

From what I have read, the Chinese batteries are a new breed,…. being sodium ion…. which are cheaper to manufacture…. and use less rare materials. The great selling feature is the batteries are “removable”…. once expired.

From what I have been told. these Chinese EV’s are presently being sold in various countries …and customers seem to be very satisfied with them. However, it remains to be seen if there are indeed any issues with them.

NOTE:

Just so you know.

Before retiring I spent about 40 years in aircraft/helicopter maintenance…. … (many more years in repairing automobiles as a hobby) .i have had plenty of experience with all kinds of batteries …..including factory courses on maintaining them… such as nickel cadium.. etc.

Whether it’s fake information or not, there are dozens of news articles saying Chinese electric vehicles are designed to spy on the driver. The UK government appears concerned.

is Nigerian black axe still active in the tow truck industry in Toronto in 2026 as well as in car theft and distribution worldwide

+13

Based on investigations and news reports up to February 2026, organized crime groups, including those with ties to international syndicates, remain heavily involved in auto theft in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), while the towing industry is undergoing a massive, violent restructuring following major police crackdowns.

Black Axe and Car Theft in 2025–2026

Active Involvement: The Black Axe, a Nigerian-based criminal enterprise, has been identified in reports as being implicated in the surge of stolen vehicle exports from Ontario.

Global Distribution: These groups, often in partnership with other criminal networks, ship stolen vehicles from Canada to West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana), the Middle East, and Europe.

Recent Activity: Investigations into international auto theft networks continued throughout 2025, with major seizures of vehicles headed for Nigeria, Vietnam, and the Middle East. As of January 2026, European authorities have also made arrests targeting Black Axe members involved in vehicle theft and financial fraud.

Methods: Reports indicate these networks use sophisticated methods, including falsifying vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and working with insiders at licensing offices (ServiceOntario) to identify luxury vehicles.

Toronto Tow Truck Industry in 2025–2026

Major Crackdown (2025): Toronto police and partner agencies dismantled a major criminal network known as "The Union" in June 2025, which was responsible for a violent, years-long turf war involving shootings and arson to control the towing industry.

Ongoing Police Corruption Probe (2026): As of February 2026, a massive corruption probe ("Project South") revealed that several Toronto police officers were involved in protecting or aiding criminal networks tied to the towing industry, which has been described as being "hijacked" by criminals.

Shift in Control: While specific, previously identified "Black Axe" operators may have been apprehended in past raids, the industry remains high-risk and continues to be infiltrated by organized crime, with 15% of Toronto shootings in 2024 related to towing, a trend that saw significant violent incidents continue into 2025.

In summary, while specific police projects (like "Project Yankee" and "Project South") have heavily degraded and exposed the criminal networks, including corrupt police involvement, in the Toronto towing industry by early 2026, the criminal networks themselves—including international,, syndicates involved in vehicle theft—remain active and continue to target the GTA for luxury car theft.

In all due respect JK,….. but………. “spy on the driver”?

Listen to idle conversation in the EV … while driving?

O R….. knowing where the car has travelled? It is super old military technology that satellite can read license plates… from outer space. Can you just imagine the tech knowledge in this day and age of locating and tracking a vehicle at random?

SURELY the British aren’t that gullible…… or are they? However…. I do respect your opinion JK…. really!

Jerry Grant's avatar

Tracking by satellite is limited by the angle between the satellite and the license plate. Plus it requires a tremendous amount of processing.
