Thank you Adam for this write-up. I am often asked about how it is that Israelis - given their geopolitical reality - manage to be among the happiest populations in the world according to that sort of data. And the main reason I can come up with is that incredible communal bond that becomes so obvious during conflict, and manifests itself in things like the Dizengoff garage shelter. And while it is less apparent among the loud, cantankerous populous at other times, it continues to bind the Israeli society in less visible, but equally strong bonds that are a prime factor to Israel's success as a society.

Very interesting article. I would wager that 95%…or more of the “outside” world wouldn’t be aware of the conditions or people’s reactions to the conditions of “war” or bombings. Ver insightful. 👍
