Unfortunately it might also be happening in Canada.

I remember last election, my partner (Chinese immigrant) told me that if the Conservatives won, it would be anti-China. News on Wechat (largest Chinese social media platform in the world) the platform where circulating that if the Conservative won, they would cancel Permanent residency cards and deport people from the Chinese diaspora.

Obviously, this is absolutely ludicrous for us to even fathom this.

Sadly, Chinese immigrants and, often, even those born here get their news from only one source.

That source was actively scaring people from voting Conservative.

Nothing is being done by the federal government about this.

I'm wondering if the Conservative party will have a strategy on this come next election or if there is even anything that can be done about it.

That's the thing, what are we to do?

I think we need to somehow limit the CCP's ownership and/or influence of Chinese-language media here (ex. television stations) to encourage independent voices. But then there's the question of what other tactics might be or are being deployed against the people who would broadcast these independent opinions (ex. harassment, threats, financial enticement, blackmail, intimidation of family members in China etc.).

It's probably safe to say that a ban on WeChat here would be unfair to those who use it communicate with friends and family in China and would also be a propaganda feeding frenzy for the CCP provoking all measure of nasty responses and retaliation, surely partly by design.

There don't appear to be any easy solutions. We most definitely need more brave voices coming from the diaspora community itself to provide wisdom and insight as to how we can best combat this evil and protect them at the same time.

One of the most obvious solutions is for the wretched Trudeau government to crack down on the CCP’s and their compradors’ activities in Canada, but they won’t because they benefit! The Liberals won’t even conduct a proper inquiry into the interference because they benefit! Imagine not giving full standing to the His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, its Leader, and a proven CPC MP victim, Michael Chong, and yet continuing the charade that this is a legitimate inquiry. Get rid of the Trudeau Liberals, and solutions begin to unfold.

Yeah, it's actually crazy that Dong, Woo and another one whose name escapes me right now get full status but the Conservatives don't. And Hogue effectively told them not to push the issue with her, or else.

This inquiry is a farce from the get-go. We need a full-on all-encompassing investigation into this, not the pathetic theatre piece the Liberals are putting on for their CCP sponsors/overseers.

Stay safe out there Sam. There are many toes being stepped on and many things in the dark now coming to light, thanks to you. There is a tendency for this Regime in charge, to punish those who decent against their regime in Ottawa and we see how they disregard the rule of law. Just look at the lengths taken against the Coutts four and the leaders of the Freedom Convoy. You will not be deemed innocent until proven guilty in any of our now captured courts of law. Be careful Sam we need you.
