LONDON — Lord Peter Mandelson, the veteran Labour powerbroker and former British Ambassador to the United States, was arrested Monday at his north London home on suspicion of misconduct in public office, becoming the second major figure in as many weeks to be detained by British police as part of the widening fallout from the Justice Department’s release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Epstein wasn’t only about supplying young girls for sex, he was the centre of a web of shadowy financial dealings, advising and connecting the wealthy and powerful across the globe. A lot of it leads to China which explains why Mark Carney and key Liberals have and have had an open door to the Chinese government. The CCP has been allowed to operate unhindered by successive Liberal governments in Canada. If there are revelations from the Epstein files that relate to Canadian politicians and business leaders, will the RCMP have the will and the power to investigate freely? I hope so.

I wonder if the arrest of Mandelson and Andrew is a Starmer ploy to take some of the pressure off him to resign? It would be interesting to know if Starmer actually gained anything monetarily for appointing Mandelson as Ambassador to the USA. The breadth of elite corruption is only just showing the tip of that particular iceberg. Who else could be involved?

The VERY CURIOUS thing about these two arrests in the UK for "misconduct in public office": It's that not a single arrest or even investigate of this sort has been made in the US.
I'm skeptical of most of accusations of sex with minors against anyone other than Epstein himself. Perhaps a few of his "friends" did partake in that and they should definitely be prosecuted. But, that is not how Epstein was making a living. He made himself rich by being a conduit of information and an "introducer" between powerful parties with mutual interests. What we see in the UK is that powerful people are being investigated and arrested on suspicion, and might be charged, for giving Epstein confidential government information.
If Epstein was doing that with UK public figures / politicians, do you think he was NOT doing that in the US? You'd have to be very naive ....
This suggests to me that the UK is at least not systematically corrupt. When information of criminal acts come to light, even against the most powerful, it is investigated and pursues the case. I am starting to wonder the degree to which the US is systematically corrupt ....
